The Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) concluded the third season of Usapang Lupa, an online video series that discusses laws and policies pertaining to land ownership.
With the lifting of pandemic restrictions, Usapang Lupa successfully shifted to face-to-face production this season. A total of 16 episodes were released to assist viewers in understanding legal processes and jargon on matters such as agricultural free patents, land titles, land inheritance, trespassing, foreign ownership of land, and tax declaration, among others.
“Katulad ng nagdaang seasons, layunin pa rin namin na pag-usapan ‘yung karaniwang tanong tungkol sa mga batas sa lupa. Ang kaibahan lang ngayon, balik in-person na ulit ang production team,” said Cesar Ilao III, Usapang Lupa Producer and Director.

Milestones and new plans
From 500,000 Facebook views in 2021, the season doubled its viewership to a whopping million views. FEF’s YouTube channel, which also features Usapang Lupa episodes, attracted larger viewership of 150,000. Meanwhile, its Facebook following and YouTube subscriptions now stand at 19,000 and 8,000, respectively.
According to Ilao, the figures signify the need to educate more Filipinos on land laws. It also encourages the production team to reach more audiences in the coming seasons through short-form content, such as reels.
“Makakaasa ang ating viewers na patuloy pa naming pagagandahin ang mga upcoming episodes,” he said.
