under the Increasing Investments in the Philippines Project
The Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) is a public advocacy organization that seeks to advance the causes of secure property rights, competitive markets, good governance, consumer rights and economic and political liberty. The Foundation is composed of distinguished members in the fields of government, media, business, and the academe.
In line with this goal, FEF has been working on a project to increase foreign investments in key sectors in the Philippines. The project aims to identify and pursue potential avenues to increase competition and investment in public utilities, the rice and corn industry and other potential policy reforms to meet its objective to attract more investments to the Philippines.
For this purpose, FEF is looking for a Program Assistant who will provide administrative and technical support in undertaking this project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to the project in terms of planning and organizing meetings, fora, workshops, or focus group discussions;
- Assist in preparing and disseminating advocacy materials to policy champions;
- Assist in political mapping of both houses of Congress;
- Liaise among the two houses of Congress, government agencies, and other policy stakeholders;
- Monitor news related to the advocacy;
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the ongoing project
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities reasonably requested by FEF.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/College Degree in a relevant field, Masteral degree is a plus but not necessary;
- At least 2 years of work experience in a related field;
- Must be willing to work full time (Can work remotely but should be available for face-to face meetings, when safe and necessary);
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point), web literate (including familiarity with online project collaboration tools and social media platforms); and
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, must be diligent and can work with minimal supervision, good creative skills will be an advantage.

under the Revisiting and Strengthening Economic Institutions Project
The Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) is a public advocacy organization that seeks to advance the causes of secure property rights, competitive markets, good governance, consumer welfare and economic and political liberty. FEF is composed of distinguished members in the fields of government, media, business, and the academe.
FEF is conducting research on updating its existing research and data to support the amendment of the economic provisions of 1987 Constitution and on strengthening the National Development Company as the premiere investment arm of the national government. This initiative is supported by the Human Dignity Grant of the Atlas Network, FEF’s international partner. Results and recommendations of both studies will be presented to policymakers and relevant stakeholders. The Project, therefore, is looking for Researchers who will lead the research and writing of the abovementioned studies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the data gathering, updating of empirical data, and writing of the study on amending
the economic provisions of the 1987 Constitution (Researcher 1); lead the data gathering and
writing of the study on strengthening the National Development Company (Researcher 2); - Come up with the following: 1) outline; 2) study with policy recommendations; and 3)
powerpoint presentation; - Conduct desktop research and key-informant interviews to gather data;
- Provide technical support in congressional hearings, high-level meetings, and other
engagements in relation to the Project; - Interact with donors and international organizations when necessary; and
- Perform any other reasonable duties and tasks as requested by FEF.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; Masters degree is a plus but not necessary;
- Must have extensive experience in research and writing and sound understanding of research methodologies;
- Attention to detail and exceptional written, verbal, and virtual communication skills;
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Power Point), web literate (including familiarity with online Project collaboration tools and social media platforms);
- Must be willing to work part-time (can work remotely but should be available for face-to face meetings, when safe and necessary); and
- Good character reference is a must.
